2009...man oh man.

i decided to write my "recap of the year" post a day early, because tomorrow i will no doubt be busy partying with miss ashley, you know, laughing hysterically at everything, dressing up (possibly panic at the disco-esque, in fact, lets make that possibly a probably), listening to fun music, drinking out of wine glasses, eating finger food, dancing uncontrollably, screaming, giggling, going crazy, watching the ball drop and reminiscing and talking for hours, and most likely end up crying, that kind of stuff.

so here we are. we're on the outskirts of 2010, and although my recent attack of cabin fever has left me feeling blank and distraught, when i sit here and look back, its been a damn good year. of COURSE there have been rough patches, i mean, thats a given in life. but right now, i wanna live a life from a new persective. yes panic reference. ive decided, even though this song is the same kind of typical fueled by ramen pop rock that has always been spouted to the masses, i dig it. (listening to it right now, in fact.) its just the lyrics and the mood, yum. and this is kind of how i feel about the new year, in a way. because really it is so so true.

im ready to grow up, get things done, be a positive, happy, person, with big ideas, and even bigger dreams. im ready to make them happen. ive got a little over one more year of highschool and then thats it! its time to make plans and get prepared for this amazing life im aspiring for. enough whining, complaining, and impatience. im going to live focused, one day at a time. because sometimes i need to sit back and say, "Sarah, chill out. its going to happen. you can be as famous as they are, and make music everyday and live out of a suitcase. you have everything you need to make it to the top, so just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride."

-filming a pseudo star wars movie for 2 hours on the last day of 10th grade, with the great Tyler English!

-making $50 at my very own garage sale, with help from jake! ha!

-cheyne and i's skip school go to norman (OU) day on november 16th!

-playing dfest with the fiascos in july! meeting-ish metro station at the hotel. ha!

-my 16th birthday on april 18th, even though it didnt turn out the way i expected, im so grateful!

-sparklers and ice cream night with cayla and larry plus harrassing tyler english over the phone in september !

i braved the snow a bit today to go out and make a lovely snow-woman with my mum and little sister. i named her holga. nothing special about my outfit today, i merely dressed for the cold. i also got a chictopia account today, one more thing to keep up with, yeah?

a white christmas!

snow came down in cloudfuls last night!
i woke this morning to a plethora of santa gifts and mom and dad gifts. lovely!
i got some incredible key pieces for my wardrobe from my amazing mother. and i also got a sewing machine!!! so, be sure to expect some handmade clothing very soon! my darling mother also went out in the snow to take pictures for me, so thank you thank you thank you to her.

muse road trip / best boyfriend ever.

jake came over tonight to exchange christmas gifts / celebrate our one and a half year anniversary. he pulled up in his red grand cherokee jeep, calling it his sleigh, piled high with gifts. he got my little sister a webkinz outfit she loved and my parents some holiday goodies. there were two boxes for me. the first was one of those boxes you always get clothing in, instead inside under tons of tissue paper was the panic at the disco live in chicago dvd i asked for! i was so happy. then came this huge box originally used for storing paper and folders. tucked between bundles of newspaper was muse "black holes and revelations" on vinyl. i loved both gifts but was a little confused because all month, everyone had been making a big deal about his gift. he then turned the records around and taped to the back was a little envelope. i opened it and pulled out this:

the circled area on the arena diagram is where we'll be at. oh my god. im. in. shock. this calls for capital letters and i never do this but.... YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!




im also wearing this adorable black cocktail dress i got from target on the clearance rack for $6. yumm. time to go spend my night eating chocolate, cuddling with the boy of my dreams, and watching panic at the disco live on dvd!

last night i had the pleasure of watching julie and julia. it was such an adorable movie and a must watch for any blogger. julie has a love for food and cooking and decides to work her way through julia child's cookbook in a year. 365 days, 524 recipes. julie's drive and tenacity about finishing her blog is inspiring. along with the help of her oh so sensitive husband, she makes something out of her life from something as easy to do as a blog. (as we see so many others do as well.) the counter story of the movie is of julia child herself and her life in france when she just begins to cook. it's a beautiful story and i wont give too much away, but definitely check it out. there's a good amount of cute fashion too! i think its a great flick to watch with girlfriends on a night in. i'll definitely be trying my hand at cooking now and challenging myself on my blog.

cramming for finals between photoshoots.

im typing this with weary hands because for the last 24 hours i have been reading and typing and studying my life away. its truly miserable. these were all taken during one of my free classes in the oh so unique art room by my girl mary. she needs her portfolio to be finished by february 1st, so im going to be her go to model for awhile. along with cheyne, from in a sweater poorly knit. sorry the posts are so scarce, but its mid-term time. all i have to say about that is bah. humbug. i cant wait for my holiday. only two more days to go, so i'll see you soon.

anyone know how to incorporate landscape photography into my wardrobe?

so, i walked out to my front porch to move the car and i immediately ran back inside to get my camera. how amazing is this? i guess oklahoma can be somewhat beautiful? hah! the colors fascinate me, i am uber inspired. and these weren't edited at all. im so proud of my crappy little camera right now. yay!

also, im in love with the new kooks song rainbow, the studio version hasnt leaked yet but there are lots of live version on youtube, but i especially like théo of (gimmeyourglasses), cover. he's such an adorable french boy! enjoy!

our eureke trip got cancelled! you know what that means? it means school on monday, and no early christmas this weekend. laaaaame. this was just my running errands outfit. nothing special. like i said, i need some new clothes. also, excuse my horribly messy room.

i am very aware that my post today is lacking in any originality (though i did like my hair), but cut me some slack, finals are coming up and its been near 0 degrees in good old oklahoma this past week. its very irritating, i must say. you should have seen mouse and i in matching pea coats today practically running from class to class.. im going to have to snap some shots of our pseudo european-ness sometime soon. having a class in a building across campus every hour is not hip at all. one more week of school before break.

today i really just wanted to show off another amazing peace of vintage jewelry from my $1 bag of "junk jewelry." this brooch/necklace has a soft image of a little cabin and pretty landscape. i adore it. i also sipped on this peach tea i always get at school on lunch for like 2 hours, so so good! the ankle bracelet things were the straps from my new vintage purse (that broke), i decided to recycle them by wearing them loosely wrapped around my black socks. pretty odd, but i liked it.
