Shot #9: Emily is single-handedly the funniest person I have ever met. Whenever I need a lift or some good quality advice, she is the person I go to. Not only is she a complete goofball sweetheart, she is always dressed to impress. Emily collects these little vintage hats and I was so glad I caught her on a night when she was sporting one. It looked so cute on her and went perfectly with her outfit. I adored the gold detailing against the black, but you all know how I love my gold.. Her dress is actually a thrifted romper paired with little black lace up oxfords.

Sometimes there are nights when you just have to dress up. I try to make sure every night is one of these nights. I found these shorts (originally high waisted wranglers) at a thrift store and cut/distressed them myself. Pretty soon it'll be too cold to wear them so I had to bust them out for one last hurrah. I paired the shorts with some kick-ass booties and teal socks for a pop of color. Topped it off with a black tee and lots of gold jewelry, added a black leather belt and ta da! A typical Sarah outfit. This look pretty much sums up my day-to-day wardrobe. Have a great weekend lovelies! Keep an eye out for a new Tulsa Shoot post tonight.

Hello! It's me. Just a quick outfit post from the other night. I took these outside my house and I never realized how much I like the rock walls. It's getting so cold in Tulsa, I'm starting to layer up on my tights. My legs will be frozen all winter and I'm not looking forward to it. On a brighter note, I just got an internship with Cheap Thrills Vintage here in Tulsa and I will be running their ebay store and blog! He brings casual to a new level that looks put together and well thought out. If more males dressed like Jack the world would be a better place. Shot #6: I die for Madeline's girlie floral prints mixed with ripped black tights and black leather boots. Her ruffled blouse is lovely and her adorable glasses top off this look perfectly. Madeline plays the harp at the University of Tulsa, what a pretty instrument for a pretty girl!

Shot #5: Zach Short is a hired musician and one of the best guitarists in town. I never see him without a guitar in his hands. His style is reminiscent of the 70's and his bohemian necklaces make this outfit for me. I also like his choice of corduroy pants as opposed to blue jeans. It gives the look another element of interest. Zach is one of the nicest people around and will be hitting the road on a nation-wide tour this March.

Shot #4: This girl oozes coolness. I love her combats boots and the cobalt jacket is such a refreshing color for leather. Her style is very street chic and she wears mostly solids. Not only is she a writer, but she also plays piano, sings, and has a really awesome rat tail braid on the back of her head that I wish I had gotten a shot of. Next time..

Shot #3: Fayez Mansour is one of the most interesting people I have ever met. His clothes always leave me in awe. He was definitely born in the wrong era. I never see him without a sweet pair of moccasins and 60's button up. The top he's sporting here is actually one of mine that I gave him as a gift. He works it better than I do!

Shot #2: Patrick Farrington. Walking around Brookside last night he immediately caught my eye. I usually shy away from wearing multiple prints together but I dug the clash of his sweater and jacket. To me, his style is cohesive with his music. Both use contrasting elements that work together. When I asked about his tunes he replied, "It is what it is. I favor mixed media, live instruments, electronics, experimentalism.. a vivid projection of my expanding imagination." Check out his project Kaito Gigantia on Soundcloud.

Shot #1: What a better way to kick off this new feature than with Tulsa's coolest, Caleigh Trotter. I call her the Queen of Thrift. This chick has a gift when it comes to shopping. She always seems to find the most interesting pieces. When sifting through thrift store jungles, she sees potential in things that most people would pass up. The result? No one will ever be caught wearing the same outfit as Caleigh. And could her hair be any cooler? No, I didn't think so.

I have decided to declare a Communications major when I get to OU. I couldn't be more excited. My life is really starting to work itself and I feel good! For the first time this semester I am waking up happy. I have freed myself from feeling overwhelmed and I'm ready to take on the world. I have so many great new people in my life and I am finally enjoying myself. I will be going to OU next fall 2012. And for now I am going to stay in my lovely hometown city, Tulsa. I'm just not quite ready to leave yet. I hope all of you fellow fashionistas are having a wonderful October, my favourite month. (:

In other news, my friend London and I have been obsessed with Mad Men lately. We watch it on netflix constantly, so in honor of our favourite show we decided to be Don Draper and Molly Goldberg from Season 1 for Halloween. This is what we wore last night to our friend's housewarming/halloween party.

I apologize for my absence everyone! It has been a crazy month. I started college at TCC on August 22nd and I have been working around 6 days a week. I'm taking 6 classes. History, Government, Sociology, Biology, Theatre, and Show Choir. By December I will have 25 credits to my Gen Ed and I will be a sophomore in college. In January I'll be moving into my first apartment and transferring to Oklahoma University. I am beyond excited. Riley goes there too! I'm at a huge transition period in my life, and so far everything is going pretty good. Bear with me, readers. Fashion is still my passion!

Stop Staring!

Retro clothing company Stop Staring! approached me about featuring one of their dresses recently and I could not have been more excited and honored. I set up this shoot today and was blessed for the first time this summer with cooler weather to work in. I styled the dress in a couple of different ways with two separate hat/accessory combos. I think they both worked well, one was a more old fashioned vibe with a cloche hat and sensible heels, while the other uses a bright pop of teal and black leather booties to modernize the look. I was so happy with the way these photos turned out that it was terribly difficult to choose which ones to use! This dress was a great canvas for styling and over all a total beauty. It was great working with Stop Staring! and I can't wait to collaborate with them again!

Block Party

The heat here in Oklahoma has been excruciating. Temperatures have reached 118 degrees. Is that even possible? I feel like my skin is going to burn off everytime I walk outside. It's been hard to even enjoy outdoor summertime activities because of this drought and my car over-heated, busting my radiator. Despite all of this, Riley and were determined to attend this big outdoor concert called the Brady District Block Party. Lots of bands were playing but we were mainly going to see MuteMath and the Flaming Lips. We were really worried about having a heat stroke so we dressed as light as possible. When we got there though, wind and rain came out of nowhere destroyed half the stage, everyone was completely drenched and the fire department shut it down because there was a microburst. It was a crazy night to say the least. This is what we wore.

Last night Riley and I felt like dressing up and having a date night. We went to this little Italian place called Ciao on Brookside for a nice dinner and then got chocolate chip crepes at our favourite Tulsa jewel, Mod's. Our one year anniversary is on Sunday and we'll be going to Eureka Springs to celebrate! (:

So, after watching Midnight in Paris, I just want to wear slinky 20's dresses all the time, as well as headbands!

The other night, my band Milo's Fare played our first show with our new bassist and drummer. We played at this sick little bar in OKC called the Blue Note and it was a great time. I love my new leather mini but it was hot hot hot!

My oh my It's hot here in Tulsa! Made a little trip to Riverside with Jordan today to take some photos. We grabbed lunch and went vintage shopping, I got some really cool old Rock N Roll buttons I can't wait to show you guys! Last night I had my first band practice with our new bassist and drummer. I had quite a day with my great friend Jordan, we ran all over Tulsa taking photos and exploring abandoned buildings. Then we made our way to Riverside where we took some photos underneath one of the bridges with these amazing masks we found. It was a great day, the summer is starting to look up for sure. (: I'm definitely ready for Riley to come home though. I miss him so much!

Today I went on a spur of the moment road trip to Edmond/Oklahoma City. It's about a 2 and half hour drive, not bad at all. I went to this super cool abandoned church called the Hopewell Baptist Church which was designed by the genius architect, Bruce Goff. I also visited my great friend and guitar player Sean at his new place in OKC. It felt good to get out of Tulsa but I'm really itching for more time in Dallas...

Yesterday I went to the Gypsy coffee house and then made stencils with my friend Chris. We spray painted them all around Tulsa. His was really cool, I love the little men on the stairs. Gypsy is my favourite coffee house, they have great Chai Tea Lattes ( I don't drink coffee) and the best blueberry muffins you will ever eat. Plus the atmosphere is great. We climbed an old abandoned building and took photos on the roof, there's a great view of Tulsa from there. Even though it's small, it's still my hometown and I love the city.

I took some photos downtown today with Riley. He and I checked out the old Tulsa World Newspaper building that is completely abandoned now. It was this super cool retro 60's mod kinda place. We also got sang to by a street performer named TJ and had dinner at the 5 & Diner.

I NEVER wear long skirts, so this was a big step for me. I always like them on other people, but there was always something that bugged me about any skirts past my knee. Maybe it's my height or weight, I don't know but I'm starting to open up to them. Riley did a great job taking my photos for me and we had a great time.

God Save the Queen

Today was my last day of high school. I spent the day with my choir comrades who have become my family. We ended the year on a sad note, hearing the news that our beloved Mr. Doonkeen, our choir director was being "re-assigned." Basically demoted. So he's leaving and won't be teaching at our school anymore. We are all rallying together tomorrow to fight the school board. We won't go down without a fight. Ruiel Doonkeen is single-handedly the greatest teacher I have ever had.

On a lighter note, this mask was one I made in art this year. It was inspired by the Sex Pistols "God Save the Queen" artwork. (:

Tonight, I am going to do a photo shoot with Riley. Hopefully it turns out well and I will post them tonight!

I love this shirt, it's so flowy and paired with the hat I feel ultra seventies. The sleeves make me feel like a butterfly. Today my allergies are killing me but I'm going to soldier through a band practice because I hate cancelling!

Not an envelope pushing outfit today by any means but I really adore my new MCR tee and it's vintage feel. I painted my shoes to match Gerard's shirt at the show since I'm on this little My Chem kick. These are probably the last few photos I will ever take at school and let me tell you I am excited for summer. Everything is falling into place. The only thing I need now is a roommate for an apartment since I'm moving out in January!!! I have to work today so I'm going to cut this post short. Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Killjoys, Make Some Noise!

Over the weekend, one of my oldest friends and I took a road trip to Dallas to see our favourite band since 6th grade, My Chemical Romance. The show was at the House of Blues and it was seriously the best concert I've seen to date. We were front row, right on the barrier, about 5 feet from the band. It was mind blowing and I have to say my love for Gerard Way was bursting out of my chest as I sang along to every song. They were amazing and I really loved Dallas. I can't wait to go back. All of these were taken with my new Nikon except for the last photo because I didn't want to take me new camera into the show and risk something happening to it.

My concert outfit consisted of leopard print tube skirt from Target, a black lace top from Rue 21, and combat boots from JC Penney, paired with lots of smoky eyeliner and big rings. Sometimes I wish I could go back to the late 70s in London and be part of the punk scene. I can dig.

Wire Sculptures

We've been learning about Alexander Calder in art and it's got me very inspired. We're doing a wire unit and I'm going to be making a series of wire jewelry for my big project. I'm going to make as many as possible. I started today and they turned out pretty cool. My friend Jacob made the piece on my necklace today. It's upside-down in my photos but it's a man's face. I'm going to be selling a few pieces on my online thrift store and I'll let you all know when I get them up! Have a great week!

My schooling is officially over. I only go to high school for 3 hours a day, art, show choir, and mixed choir. My college classes ended today. So I literally do nothing all day. It has been raining cats and dogs the last few days! Today it finally cleared up a bit and I was able to get some decent pictures. I am in love with my new boots! I spotted them in Branson at Maurices but they didn't have my size. When I got back in town I checked our Maurices and they had my size, on sale for 14.98! I gushed to my mum about them and on Easter they were in a basket when I woke up. I have the best momma ever! I got three new shirts today and a vest. I'm finally feeling like me again. I missed shopping!!!

I saw "I'm not there" the other day, check it out when you have time because it's a great film about Bob Dylan. Kate Blanchett plays him at one point, and she blew my mind. SO GOOD.

On April 8th I went to Branson with Show Choir to compete at the National FAME competition. It was our first time there and an amazing experience, we got the "Miss Congeniality" type award. I will never forget this trip.

Turning 18 & Revelations.

Hi guys,
I'm back. I turned 18 on April 18th, and I'm beginning a new chapter in my life which I am very excited about. I graduate on May 19th and this summer I plan to travel and work as much as possible. I'll be going to Tulsa Community College in the fall, for one semester and then transferring to OU in January. I am beyond excited. As usual, I'm going to have a lot on my plate for the next 8 months, my band will be back up and going, as well as my blog, and maybe a few new ventures. I hope you all will continue to follow me on my crazy journey. Starting tomorrow I will be posting daily.
Keep in mind I am very broke and very in debt, so It's going to be an interesting slew of posts to say the least.

Tulsa Club.

"This eleven-story building was designed by Bruce Goff. It was built through the joint effort of the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce and the Tulsa Club. The first five floors of the building were occupied by the Chamber and other business organizations while the top six floors and the roof garden were inhabited by the Tulsa Club. The Tulsa Club contained dormitory rooms on the sixth floor and a men's lounge on the eighth floor. The club also had a gymnasium and barber shop. The club's interior had Art Deco ornamentation including fireplace tiles. Built of Bedford stone, the original 5th Street entrance was designed with abstract detailing above the doorway."

I conquered my fears and climbed this building on Sunday. With the help of a great friend as though. Fantastic. I love Tulsa. I took these photos with a cheap film camera. ♥

Jake sent me flowers for Valentine's day. I'm in love with them. I think it's really important to set goals for yourself and I can't even function without an up to date to-do list, so I thought I would lay out a set of goals for myself and scratch them off as I go. (:

I've been waiting for a chance to bring out this sweet blazer I got back in Decemeber and it finally made it's debut today! I always have trouble with blazer, I feel like they never fit me right, but this one from Charlotte Russe is wonderful.

Well, my usual camera has crapped out on me so the last two posts are using my mom's camera. =/ I'm so close to getting my nikon, it's just soooo expensive! I'm looking at a few more weeks before I'll be able to buy it. Sigh. Bear with me everyone.

I received these adorable booties from one of my sponsors, Blowfish Shoes a while back and I've been waiting to feature them until my camera situation got figured out. So here they are! They are the "Cat Girl" bootie in grape strike. I absolutely love the color, it's one of the most dominant colors in my wardrobe. I needed a great colored shoe to add a pop to my outfits and these are just the shoes to do it. Plus the little bow details on the side are so cute. They are super comfortable and haven't given me any trouble in the blister department as new shoes often do for me. I paired them with my favorite jeans and this great lace blazer from Charlotte Russe, along with an Italian silk vintage scarf that I thought went perfectly with the color scheme. The wonderful turquoise oval ring I'm wearing is from Forever 21.

Sorry for my lack of posts. The holidays have been crazy busy for me and to be quite honest, I've been exhausted. Between Christmas-ing and elf-ing, I've been working almost every single day and I feel like I haven't got any time to myself! I'm looking forward to this "break" to be over honestly and I'm anxious for next semester. My last semester of high school... WOW. I'm currently scrounging around for money and pinching pennies in order to get myself a damn DSLR that is worthy of a good fashion blog. I NEED IT! Last night, Riley surprised me and took us to the Tulsa PAC to see A Christmas Carol the musical. It was wonderful and it gave me a reason to dress up! Yesterday was the halfway mark of my senior year! I had a really fun day, plus I got a lot of things done. Re-enrolled in TCC, got my finals out of the way, and we played dirty santa in show choir! Voila! Today's outfit. The necklace is one that my sweet boyfriend made for me at this great little shop called the Bead Merchant. We were on cherry street yesterday when we passed by it and we decided to stop and make each other necklaces. Hello everyone,
I am so excited to be partnering with We Love Colors. I've loved their tights for...forever now and it's my goal in life to own every single color they offer (which is 51 to be exact!) Tights are great, but so often over looked as being a key part of our wardrobes! Tights are essential, they keep us warm while adding a pop of color or interest to our outfits. I finally got my copy of Danger Days! Okay okay, I know you all probably think it's a little weird, but My Chemical Romance has been my favourite band since 7th grade. I've been waiting for their new album to come out for what seems like forever and it's finally here! It's amazing, and if you like rock n roll, everyone should seriously check it out. Okay, I got a lovely little package in the mail from Le Mode Accessories and I'm so excited to partner with them. This messenger came and I couldn't love it more. It's vegan "leather" and it's my kind of purse. Big enough for all of the things I carry around. I'll be styling a shoot for Le Mode this month and I can't wait to show you guys what they have to offer.

Here is today's official post. I decided to wear the thinnest, silkiest dress I could before the weather gets too cold. I had a pretty good day. I was so happy to get my computer back and I got paid today! I treated myself to donuts and lunch today, plus bought myself a sky blue oval framed mirror at an antique store. I couldn't even believe it when I saw it. Truly a $5 treasure.

Tonight, I adventured with Jake all over Tulsa. The night included a pumpkin muffin, building exploring, Airborne Toxic Event, and lots of laughing and kisses. I've had bright pops of red going in my outfits the last couple of days! This is one of my favourite tops, I just love the pattern and its so comfortable. The skirt needs to be hemmed, I know, I just really wanted to wear it and I haven't had time since I hacked it off who knows how long ago.

So, I got interviewed on the local rock radio station Z104.5 the edge today instead of going to my comp class. We were promoting our new album "Wallflower" and we even touched on my blog for a bit! It was lots of fun and my friend Drew, the DJ, is awesome. I got another modeling gig for Cheap Thrills this weekend guys! I'm super excited. I love the store, and Kristen the owner has been so great to me.

Bonjour! Today I really wanted to remix my favourite dress and pair it with something I'd never worn before. So it was the perfect opportunity to break out this 80's sweatshirt top that I got from Salvation Army back in August. It kept me nice and warm in the biting wind. I also remixed my 20's cloche hat by flipping up the rim to make into a pseudo bowler. Threw on some urban o tights and my pearl earrings, slapped on a pair of black velvet pumps and voila! A new outfit! I missed dressing up, I hadn't in a while and so I got lots of compliments today!

So today I was feeling all black. I was focusing a lot on art and my creative outlets, so I wanted to feel like a beatnik. Check out my new shades, I love them. Well, I have been a busy little bee as usual, and I need to rock some cuter outfits, I know. But here is my "study and get things done today look." Ellie pointed out my messy bun today and we both agreed that it worked for me today. I usually never put my hair up, but today I didn't mind it, and it stayed out of my way while I was working on my comp project for tcc, tulsa community college! I'm doing a project over Alfred Hitchcock's film career and style. I've been really enjoying researching him, the man was a genius. Time to get back to my homework! I finally have the day off.

This year I was Magenta, from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, one of my favourite cult classics. My friend Maddie was Columbia and we matched! We had quite the weekend, dressed up and went to Brookside, then went to Halloween party that all of the show choir and drama kids attended, and then on to a zombie rave downtown. It was fabulous. I also carved pumpkins, watched Van Helsing, and trick-or-treated for the last time. I know we're probably too old now, but what the hell, I figure this is the last year I could get away with it. Last night was our Homecoming dance and since it's my senior year I figured I should go. I went with all of my show choir friends and it turned out to be a blast.
